Preston Murdock started playing the guitar at an early age and joined his father’s band CYMBALIC ENCOUNTERS at the age of 16. Preston is from Tokyo and he works and performs mainly in Japan and Europe. Preston worked and recorded on Cymbalic Encounters second CD ‘Exploration of the Southern Constellation’ along with other noted artists from Brand X, Percy Jones and John Goodsall, also featuring Hiroyuki Namba, Japan’s leading keyboardplayer.
Preston entered the ESP Music Academy in 2016 and he won two years consecutively in the ESP Music Academy guitar contests. Having claimed 1st Prize in the 2017 Grand Prix! He then went on to perform on the Tokyo club circuits and concert venues to audiences of over 3000 people. He currently performs with his own band SIGNAL. He attended an intensive course at the M.I. in Hollywood in 2017 and regularly attends the NAMM Show as an endorser for EVENTIDE, we are also proud to have Preston as a supporting artist here at JJ Guitars.
